epiphany from a river

your peace enthralls my soul
as you flow and make the oceans whole
as you move, you shimmer like the sun
encompassing all, never to be outdone

i walked by your side trying to find
the reasons why it seems intertwined
time stood still, yet lives moved steadily
is it destiny, or is it just an anomaly

you continue to move on, despite
the ravages inflicted to your might
you don't care if you dry up and be sand
as long as you finish the task at hand

a realization came to me
like a river i should be
these lessons i should apply
until i say my final goodbye
