Cinco de Mayo

Head is throbbing, I cannot think.
It all happened in a blink
Words were exchanged
feelings were bared
what you hear can make you deranged
you cant take this even if you are prepared

The end of acknowledgement,
saying words that were half meant.
the darkening of the sights
the slamming of the door
the screech of the flight
sounded like a tidal bore

the flight was long and agonizing
eyes look straight unseemingly blazing
i reached out to communicate
all i hear is unwelcome static
at this point, i can feel my heart rate
im all out of breath, like an asthmatic

then she passed by never flinching
everything so far sounded so convincing
my brains were twisted and turned
chemicals raced to the point of no return
all these because i was spurned
just burn me now dont keep my ashes in an urn

the destination was silent yet eerie
will she ever arrive before i'm dreary
i waited and waited and waited and waited
not even a sign, not even a sound
i heard a ring, i was elated
i have to brace myself for what is abound

door is opened, ready to confront
but silence was there just like a deer hunt
scanned for emotions
cannot see anything
not even simple nor complex notions
i would give everything for something

you can hear hearts pounding
then the wailing
whatever went on there
twas too scary to remember
be it a lesson learned
or an enemy gained

up to now you have to be wary
because you might do something contrary
i still am confused
afraid to do anything, might be accused
that was one crazy day, yeah like a squashed mango
i will never forget, that cinco de mayo
