anomalous haven

i shook my head and then looked up
hoping for someone to say "wazzup"
i brushed the sand away
and started walking in a sway

the desert stretched infinitely
just like a weird space anomaly
from a distance i see a reflection
immediately i surged in its direction

painfully, eagerly i composed myself
moving slowly like a continental shelf
i see trees, water, hope in living
this is it, no mirage, but the real thing

drenched my mouth with newfound joy
washed my face with the urge to destroy
this oasis i found has urged me to find
the way out of the deserts of my mind
