a mothers voice

i never did want you to worry
i guess i have to say i am sorry
please know that i am cared for
my love goes out across the shore

remember that we think about you
our thoughts are beyond the blue
looking forward to your coming back
how long has it been, anak?

we've had our misunderstanding
look at where you're standing
you turned out to be more
than what we expected before

if there is one thing we can tell you
is that both of us love you
i am ok, i am fine
my life is the Lord's and not mine

(note: this is a poem based on the conversation i had with my mom last
night. i just found out that she was diagnosed with diabetes a few months
back and she didn't want me to know about it. it took me over a week to
muster the courage to give her a call and talk to her without being angry
for trying to hide the ailment. hearing those words from her really meant a
lot to me. and i hope that if any of you readers are in the same situation
as i am, i pray that may you be blessed by this.)
